Scope and controller

This applies to https://www.smartexpenses.blog, its English, Spanish, and French pages, web calculators, and the Smart Expenses Android app. Responsible party: Antonio Ibarra / AIAndroidDev. Contact: hola@smartexpenses.blog.

Data stored locally in the app

The Android code confirms local storage for movements and preferences. User-entered financial information may include amounts, descriptions, categories, dates, income, expenses, recurring movements, currency, reminders, onboarding state, local Premium state, and analytics preferences.

The app does not connect a bank account or request bank credentials. The policy does not claim that no data ever leaves the device, because Firebase Analytics, Google Play Billing, and system services may transmit events or technical identifiers when applicable.

Firebase Analytics on Android

The app includes Firebase Analytics, but collection is disabled by default in the manifest and is enabled only after user consent. Settings allow changing that choice.

Real or implemented events include: screen_viewed, analytics_consent_updated, movement_created, first_transaction_created, second_transaction_created, third_transaction_created, recurring_transaction_created, onboarding_completed, report_viewed, day_2_active, day_7_active, premium_offer_viewed, premium_viewed, begin_checkout, purchase, subscription_started, restore_purchase, premium_paywall_viewed, premium_purchase_started, premium_purchase_completed, premium_restore_started, premium_restore_completed, backup_exported, backup_imported, category_created, reminder_settings_saved, history_range_changed, trend_range_changed, entry_type_changed, navigation_opened, and settings_action_opened.

Events must not include exact amounts, balances, descriptions, notes, or custom category names. Firebase or instance technical identifiers may be involved for aggregate measurement and diagnostics.

Website, cookies, and campaigns

The site uses Google Analytics 4 with Consent Mode. The Analytics tag is not loaded before analytics consent. The user can accept, reject, review preferences, and reopen preferences later.

The site may store language and consent preferences in the browser. UTM parameters are used to understand campaigns; gclid, wbraid, and gbraid may be preserved as the Google Play referrer, but are not sent as GA4 event parameters from the site.

Calculators process amounts locally in the browser and do not send amounts or free-form text to Analytics.

Premium purchases

Premium is processed through Google Play Billing. The code confirms monthly and yearly subscription products, dynamic price lookup from Google Play, purchase restore, and local storage of whether Premium access is active.

Smart Expenses does not directly store full card numbers or full payment details. Google Play manages billing, cancellation, receipts, and country availability under its own policies.

Providers

Providers identified in the repository: Google Analytics 4 for website measurement with consent, Firebase Analytics for app measurement with consent, Google Play for distribution and purchases, and Android device services for notifications, system backup/restore, and widgets.

The app removes advertising ID permissions in the manifest: com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID.

Retention, security, and deletion

Local data remains on the device until the user deletes it, clears app storage, uninstalls the app, or uses an available delete/import option. Local Premium state is excluded from automatic backup under repository rules.

Reasonable operating system, Google Play, and browser safeguards apply. No technical safeguard should be read as an absolute guarantee.

For help or deletion of data voluntarily shared with support, email the address above and avoid including personal financial information.

Children, changes, and international scope

Smart Expenses is not designed to deliberately collect data from children. If a minor uses the product, appropriate supervision should be used.

This policy may be updated when the site, app, providers, analytics, purchases, or legal requirements change. Effective date: July 17, 2026.

The site may receive visitors from different countries. Purchases, availability, and applicable rights may vary by jurisdiction.
